Being a red wine lover, I’m always looking for new ways to enjoy it. What better than combining it with a fun Brazilian frozen cocktail that’s perfect for Summer get-togethers. A Batida (Ba-tee-da) is a Brazil favorite that normally mixes sweetened condensed milk with cachaça which is a Brazilian white rum made from sugar cane. I’ve partnered with World Market to bring you a Red Wine Batida Cocktail with a twist! In this version, we are using Jam Jar sweet Shiraz wine in the place of the cachaça and adding Chaokoh Coconut Milk for an exotic hint of Rio de Janeiro!
One thing I love about this cocktail is the beautiful dusty-rose color it blends into. Not only is the cocktail stunning to look at, it’s a great way for wine connoisseurs to enjoy their favorite blends in a different way. Although we are using Jam Jar Sweet Shiraz for this recipe, you always have the option to substitute that with your favorite wine.
Shopping for Brazilian Recipes and Brazilian Foods is easy with your local Cost Plus World Market. I was able to find everything I needed (save for the sweetened condensed milk which was already in my pantry) to create my Red Wine Batida Cocktail recipe.
Creating your Red Wint Batida Cocktail is easy. Simply combine all the ingredients in a blender, add ice to your liking and blend until smooth. Pour into a hurricane or sangria glass and top with an extra splash of Jam Jar Sweet Shiraz. Of course no cocktail is complete without sharing your creation with family and friends. This Red Wine Batida Cocktail is perfect as a party drink and easily shows off the perfect combo of sweet wine and Brazilian flare!
