Being a young mother to a young daughter isn’t always easy. At just four years old she’s already challenging my authority, letting me know that she does NOT want to wear what I’ve picked out for her and never lets me forget she needs he daily dose of perfume before we go anywhere. Even though we butt heads and don’t see eye to eye all the time, I always pray that she grows up to love who she is, respects what she believes in and strives to be the best at whatever she becomes passionate about. With so many things in the world pushing young women to be like what society deems “beautiful” I feel it’s super important for me to surround her with and show her what true beauty really is.
Thankfully BRATZ feels the same way and wants all girls, big and small to know it’s always important to be yourself, work hard and live for what you love. Their new line of BRATZ My Passion Dolls brings the fun of living your passion to life through Jade, Chloe, Sasha and Yasmin! BRATZ even has a campaign called, The Real BRATZ movement that highlights real “BRATZ” in their fields of passion.
We had the chance to test out Jade, who’s passion is being a fashion blogger! The doll is a good size and on the larger size of the BRATZ dolls. She features movable arm and elbow joints which allows her to be posed in realistic positions as well as movable knee joints. Jade also comes with an array of accessories, including:
- 3 BRATZ fashion magazines
- Hair Brush
- Purse
- Laptop
- VIP lanyard
- Sunglasses
- Removable clothes
My daughter was super excited to get her hands on the doll and start playing! She loved being able to brush her hair and set her up like she was typing on her computer. I was surprised at how soft the dolls hair is, plus the shortness of it eliminates the issues you get with long haired dolls and tangles. I was disappointed that we couldn’t get the doll to stand up but my daughter didn’t seem to care.
The magazines are printed cardboard so I’m not sure those will last long but they are still cute. The purse has a working flap, but nothing can actually fit in it, which kind of frustrates my daughter a bit since she can’t get Jade’s earrings to go in the purse. The doll’s shoes do come off, BUT when you remove them the doll has no feet. I’m assuming this makes for easy fashion changes when you have more then one outfit for the doll, but since we don’t my daughter was a bit disappointed she couldn’t take her shoes on and off.
All in all my little one enjoys playing with Jade and helping her write her fashion reports. The doll has held up to lots of play and I really like her bigger size. I think the message the dolls are sending to girls is great and I hope that the BRATZ morals stand out to young girls and help to teach them to follow their passions!

That’s cute. She also reminds me of “Kate” on Days of Our Lives.

Aw, Those dolls would be perfect for my granddaughter. She is at that age where she wants to play dressup and wear a princess crown.
