One of my favorite parts of Dallas Comic Con was the CosPlay Masquerade, where any attendee dressed in costume could walk the red carpet and give us a look at their character. It was so fun to see so many characters I recognized — and even a few I didn’t — that we wanted to give you a look at some of our favorites.
1. Katniss Everdeen – The Girl on Fire
I’m a huge fan of The Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins, but even if I wasn’t, this costume would have immediately caught my eye. The dress is beautiful, but I especially loved the fire details at the bottom, complete with blinking lights. This has to be one of the most unique costumes that I saw at the convention. I actually saw this girl walking around, and she couldn’t get far before people would stop her to take her pic. So fun!
2. Zombie Captain America
Captain America was a popular cosplay during the convention, but this one takes the cake. Zombie Captain America is so original — why didn’t I think of it? It combines two of my favorite things — The First Avenger and the Zombie Apocalypse. I especially love the bloody handprints on the shield and the detail on the backbone is awesome.
3. Iron Man Mark 30 Armor
There were also lots of Iron Man suits, but this one was cool because it was a little different. The Mark 30, also known as “Blue Steel,” made its debut in Iron Man 3 when Tony Stark activates the “House Party Protocol.” It’s a fun reference that only hard-core fans will get.
4. Emmet LEGO Minifigure
This cosplay took some serious dedication. It towered over the whole crowd, and I have no idea how they could see in there. But who cares, because everything is awesome!
5. Party RoboCop
Another fun take on a costume that can be overdone. I feel like the silver suit and leather gloves is very RoboCop, so this really works.
6. Wesley Crusher – Star Trek: The Next Generation
This one got lots of laughs on the red carpet. Poor Wesley is everyone’s favorite TNG character to hate. Too bad he was healed at the end of the episode where the stabbing occurred.
7. Doc Brown – Back to the Future
I’m a huge Back to the Future fan, and the fact that Christopher Lloyd had a panel at Dallas Comic Con made this cosplay that much better. I love the expression on this guy’s face — it really brings the cosplay together.
8. Captain America and Agent Carter
I really liked this version of Captain America with his pre-vibranium shield. And I’m sure we’ll be seeing a lot more of Agent Carter when her new TV series debuts on ABC this fall.
9. Dr. Horrible and Captain Hammer
Any Joss Whedon fan will tell you about the awesomeness that is “Dr. Horrible’s Sing-along Blog.” I had to include this cosplay just for the sheer epicness of Captain Hammer being played by a girl. Not that anyone could ever top Nathan Fillion.
10. Jawas – Star Wars
These guys — or gals — were probably the most recognizable figures walking around. They also were accosted constantly for photos, and for good reason. This would be an epic cosplay photo score at any sci fi convention.

Have you ever considered about adding a little bit more than just your articles? I mean, what you say is fundamental and everything. But think about if you added some great images or video clips to give your posts more, “pop”! Your content is excellent but with pics and clips, this blog could undeniably be one of the most beneficial in its field. Fantastic blog!
