I received an all expenses paid trip to from Disney to Los Angeles, CA to attend the Disney’s Planes Red Carpet Premiere and an event for The Little Mermaid diamond edition DVD release. All opinions expressed are my own.
The Little Mermaid has been my ALL TIME favorite Disney movie since I can remember! So when I received an invitation to attend a Little Mermaid event in LA and see all the new products for The Little Mermaid that are being released, I was beyond stoked! Of course with anything done by Disney, you know it’s going to be fabulously over the top and awesome. I couldn’t wait to see what they had in store for us at the event!
When I walked into The Little Mermaid Product Preview Dinner at the Roosevelt Hotel in LA, I felt as if I’d been transported to Ariel’s grotto! The entire ballroom was splashed with pinks, purples and blues. There were giant jellyfish hanging from the ceiling, music from The Little Mermaid softly playing in the background, characters from the film along the walls and the tables had gorgeous coral like center pieces. We were even graced with surprise appearances from John Musker and Ron Clements, the writer and director of The Little Mermaid!

In the middle of the room were the stars of the evening, the new Little Mermaid products! All of us seemed to feel like we were 6 years old again and OOOh’ed and AAHH’ed at all the new items to be had. I have a 3.5 year old daughter at home who’s obsessed with The Little Mermaid and I couldn’t help but imagine what she would have thought walking into this room. Everything from clothing, dolls and jewelry to even an Ariel line of makeup and a Little Mermaid guitar were featured!
I’ve singled out a few of my favorite items that were at the preview to show off a little more in depth. Most of the items we viewed are currently available or in the process of shipping to their retailers, however a some of them won’t be available until later this year.
