Every child has at least one favorite toy, for my kiddo’s it’s definitely their play kitchen. They both spend hours creating pretend dishes and helping mommy and daddy “cook” meals. I love that we have such a wonderful toy that’s able to engage their imaginations so well. What I don’t like, is the amount play-food I’ve gone through since we’ve gotten the kitchen. With the exception of a few items, most of the play-food has ended up with dents, squashed in, or broken. Another issue I know my kids get frustrated over is that the slick plastic most play food is made from makes it very hard for it to stay on a plate or in a bun. Needless to say, it’s been frustrating for me and my kids since I’m always having to get new play-food and they are constantly having to play with deformed food.
Luckily, Learning Resources has solved ALL my play-food issues with their new Sprouts line of play food! We were able to test out the New Sprouts Deluxe Market Set and not only has it fixed all the problems I’d been running into, it’s making my kids extremely happy!
The set comes with 32 pieces including a basket and fake wooden bucket. Each item represents a healthy food choice with a few yummies thrown in. Just by touching the food, I could feel that it was made from a MUCH higher end plastic material then other play-food. The plastic almost feels like a soft, rubber like material which gives the food a nice texture. Both the basket and bucket are also nicely made with durable, thick plastic which give me no worries about them breaking any time soon.
I think my favorite thing about the new New Sprouts Deluxe Market Set, is the material they are made from. Because they have that rubber-like feel, it keeps them from sliding off of plates and sandwiches seem to hold together much better! Each food item is large enough for little hands to play with and not too small to where I’d be worried about my 1.5 year old sticking it in his mouth. All in all we are VERY happy with the New Sprouts Deluxe Market Set. Even with a retail price of $49.99, I highly recommend this product, especially if you have the same play-food woes as I did. You are certainly getting your money’s worth and the New Sprouts Deluxe Market Set will definitely supply your children with years of fun!

May I simply just say what a comfort to uncover a person that truly understands what they’re talking about on the net. You certainly understand how to bring a problem to light and make it important. I have seen these food play sets with this company and have thought about ordering some for my daughter. I like how it looks like good quality and not made of card board like most.
