If you’re a Cartoon Network fan like I am, you’ll rejoice to find out that the Emmy award winning series the Regular Show is set to release on DVD July 16th! With over 440 minutes of mind blowing awesome-ness and over 2 hours of bonus features, the 3 disc set won’t leave you wanting!
I had the chance to review the Regular Show Seasons 1 & 2 and even though i’d never seen the show before, I’m totally hooked! If you aren’t familiar with the Regular Show, the series stars two best friends and park groundskeepers, Mordecai and Rigby, who also happen to be a bluebird and a raccoon, whose attempts to escape their everyday boredom take them to fantastical extremes.
Each episode is just 11 minutes long so they make for a quick watch. I had a blast taking in all the fun adventures and silly antics Mordecai and Rigby along with their friends got into. I even felt good letting my kids watch the series since there aren’t any obscene or too adult themed situations through out the show. The animation is fun to watch, crisp looking on my home TV and sounded great.
The 3 disc DVD set also features an array of awesome bonus features including:
- Commentaries for all 40 episodes
- The Unaired Regular Show Pilot (One of my favorites!)
- Animatic for the Pilot
- Animatic for “The Power”
- Original Pencil Tests from Saerom
- CG Test for Hodgepodge Monster
- 2010 Comic Con Teaser Trailer
- “The Naïve Man from Lolliland” Student Short
- Party Tonight Music Vido
- Interview with JG Quintel
- JG Pitches “The Power”
- Original Regular Show Commercials
Take a peek at one of my favorite episodes!
