Living in Texas, country music becomes a part of your soul. It’s a way of life down here that exemplifies hard work, love of your family, enjoying the outdoors and sharing what you have with those around you. As a kid I remember waiting all year for the time when “The CMA Awards” would be held. Every year my mom and I would make her famous Sun Tea, set out the family serving tray and make our favorite snacks for the occasion. Our family would gather in the living room and play our favorite country songs waiting for the show to start, all while sipping on homemade tea in over-sized mason jars. It seemed like nothing else in the world mattered at that moment except for our favorite country songs and stars and who was going to get the last glass of fresh tea.
Even though the years have gone by, I still love when I get the chance to take in “The CMA’s” while enjoying some good old southern tea. Of course now that I’m older, my Texas Tea has a bit of a twist making it perfect for sharing at any get together. Throw in a perfectly set country chic serving tray along with some fun appetizers and you have a country delight full of entertaining essentials that’s fit for “The 50th Annual CMA Awards”!
To create a fun, country chic serving tray you have to find the perfect tray. I absolutely love the way weathered wood looks and it really gives the whole setting a warm feeling. Of course, no country chic serving tray is complete without mason jars. I love my mason jars, they are so versatile and give off such a homey and friendly vibe. When setting my country chic serving tray, I included my large mason jars for our Texas Tea and I found the cutest mason jar shot glasses for serving mini appetizers in for “The 50th Annual CMA Awards”. I added a few bar accessories for serving and stirring and topped it off with my mason jar serving pitcher and a few lemon wedges on a colorful coaster.
For appetizers I went with an easy garlic hummus and pita chips and my homemade cider whiskey spiked bacon. Both of these country inspired snacks are major crowd pleasers and the bacon is literally to die for!
