As children we all certainly have our fears when confronted with the lights being turned off. I remember clenching my blanket as a kid and counting to 10, believing that helped to create an imaginary force field around my bed. Unfortunately, there wasn’t a one time routine that was able to banish all the monsters and bad dreams from my room at once. Luckily another father and mother team decided enough was enough when it came to monsters in the closet and created Monster Proof Paint!
Monster Proof Paint is a fun and creative new product designed to help children overcome their fear of the dark. The kit comes with a story book, explaining how to use Monster Proof Paint, a special Monster Proof Paint Label, instructions, and non-toxic Monster Proof Powder.
We were able to check out the Monster Proof Paint kit for ourselves and I absolutely love it! The story book is very kid friendly and the illustrations are fun and inviting. My 3 year old really liked reading the book with me. The label easily fits on any commercial paint can and the Monster Proof powder comes labeled in it’s own special pouch. The kit comes with directions, telling you to purchase a can of your desired paint, place the label over the bucket and add the Monster Proof Powder to the paint. Then, after reading the book, paint your child’s room with the paint. The book makes the paint out to be a special shield against all things scary once the Monster Proof Powder is added.
I really like the idea of Monster Proof Paint. I think it’s a wonderful way, especially for older children who still have worries, to overcome their fear of the dark. The only down side I see to the product is that it’s meant to be used in real paint. Unless you are willing to totally re-paint your kid’s bedroom, there isn’t another alternative option suggested in the kit. It would be great if they offered some kind of Anti-Monster Spray option. Perhaps have the kit come with a smaller label for use on a spray bottle that the powder could be added to and then sprayed in the room. Or even an “Invisible” paint option that let kids paint their already painted rooms with the monster deterrent. Either way, it would help the kit appeal to a wider audience of parents not wanting to repaint their children’s rooms.
All in all I think Monster Proof Paint is a great idea. It certainly helps engage kids by creating a safe environment for them sleep in and allows parents to get their beds back. If you have a child who’s afraid of the dark, I definitely recommend checking out Monster Proof Paint!
