When it comes to family vacations, nothing compares to a stay at a Disney hotel! With over 50 years of entertainment experience, Disneyland has been creating memories and making dreams come true for kids and adults all over the world. I recently had the chance to experience a stat at the legendary Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim, CA while attending the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration and I can attest, it was nothing short of magical!

From the moment we pulled up to the hotel we felt enveloped in the magic and fun that seems to resonate everywhere on Disney property. We were greeted by smiling faces and loads of people willing to help us with out bags. As a mom traveling with young kids, there’s nothing better then being offered free and willing help to unload the car! The bellhops put our bags aside while I checked in and even though we arrived 2.5 hours earlier then 3pm (check in time) the front desk had a pool view suite all ready for us.
The lobby of the hotel features wide open areas as well as gift shops, making grabbing essential Disney gear such as autograph books and Disney Dollars quick and easy. The conference areas and pools are all accessible from the lobby as well which is nice since it makes getting lost in the hotel much less likely to happen. Our room was located in the Fantasy Tower, which happened to be in the same building as the lobby. The hotel recently went under a massive renovation so I was super excited to check out our room!
Just like the rest of the hotel, the newly renovated rooms are absolutely stunning! We staying in a double queen, pool view suite and it was great for two mom’s and two kids. I loved that the hallways were spacious and the area between the beds and the TV were nice and wide. This gave us loads of room to get all our stuff in without feeling crammed. The beds were incredibly comfy and the kids loved the over abundance of pillows. The bathroom was also nice and roomy with fun little Disney touches. We had an amazing view of the Never Land Pool area which just got the kiddos fired up for testing out the water slides down below!
As if we all weren’t excited enough just by seeing the new room, the icing on the cake was when my daughter discovered a button on the lighting console between the two beds. Of course like any little kid would, she pressed it without hesitation and what followed quickly became the highlight of our room. Within seconds of the button being pressed, the giant wooden headboard above both beds lit up with golden fireworks while the song, “When you wish upon a star” played along. It was definitely the coolest feature I’ve ever seen in a hotel room!
One of the biggest differences I noticed between Disneyland and Disney World in FL, is that everything is within walking distance at Disneyland. Our hotel was located right next to Down Town Disney which then connects to the Monorail as well as the gates of both Disneyland and Disney’s California Adventure. Growing up going to Disney World and having to take multiple shuttles and monorail rides to get to the different parks, it was nice to have everything seem so much closer! It certainly made meeting times with friends a lot sooner since I wasn’t having to wait 20-30 min for a bus to pick me up to take me to the monorail entrance.
During my stay at the Disneyland Hotel for the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration we spent a good amount of time in the conference areas. I was surprised how large and and comfortable the conference areas were. Not only where they a please to be in, they weren’t SUPER freezing like most conference rooms I’ve been in which was nice. The first day when we checked in, we had a few fun Disney friends waiting to meet us!
Over all, we had a wonderful stay at the Disneyland Hotel! The staff was great and super friendly, it was awesome being so close to the parks and shopping and the spacious rooms were perfect for the four of us. With this being our first visit to Disneyland and attending the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration, there was no better way to kick it off then by experiencing the magic at the Disneyland Hotel!

I am so glad you had such a wonderful experience, and that your room and everything in between was so fantastic. I hope to in a few years save up so I can take all my three kids here and experience a few days to a week in the place where Dreams come true. I will definitely take your review and experience to account when I try to plan our trip. 🙂
