Thank you to Hasbro for providing me with samples to review.
Get ready for fun this Fall with new toys from Hasbro! Welcome two great new products geared towards children 3 and up, the PLAYSKOOL ShowCam and the Play-Doh Sweet Shoppe Frosting Fun Bakery. The PLAYSKOOL ShowCam takes the fun of photography and movie making and packs it down into a kid friendly package! Kiddos can take pictures, add fun stamps to their photos and turn their pictures into a presentable slideshow! With the Play-Doh Sweet Shoppe Frosting Fun Bakery it’s all about creating. Use the included new Play-Doh Plus to make sweet creations as close to real as it gets!
Baking up some fun with the Play-Doh Sweet Shoppe
My kids love Play-Doh, so when we were given the chance to test out the new Sweet Shoppe Frosting Fun Bakery they were super excited! The toy set comes with everything you need to create your own bakery including:
- Cake cutter shapes to stamp out different cakes
- Play-Doh Plus compound offers a softer; smoother texture for making pretend frosting and decorations
- 2-piece extruder, shelf, tray, cake stand, turntable, display dome, 4 cake cutters and 4 extruder tips
I have to say, the Play-Doh Plus compound is definitely MUCH easier to work with and get through the molds. It feels softer and doesn’t have that familiar “Play-Doh smell”. My daughter has had a blast creating and baking her own Play-Doh treats! The set is easy to operate, put together and has given her hours of enjoyment. She especially likes making the frosting and adding it to her creations.
Play-Doh Plus is great for creating, but it is a lot harder to get out of carpet then regular Play-Doh. We’ve had a series of unfortunate Play-Doh events on our carpet but Play-Doh Plus has been the hardest to get out, so I recommend using it as far away from carpet as possible. Looking past the carpet clean up, the Play-Doh Sweet Shoppe Frosting Fun Bakery has helped my daughter create loads of fun treats and still does!
3-2-1- ACTION! The PLAYSKOOL ShowCam!
Both my kiddos are huge hams when it comes to being on camera so naturally the PLAYSKOOL ShowCam is right up their alley! The ShowCam requires 4 AA batteries (not included) and lets your kids take their own photos and create their own fun slideshows! The ShowCam offers an array of great features including:
- 2-in-1 digital camera and projector built for kid play with simple controls, big buttons and kid-sized hand grips
- More than 50 silly stamps and sounds, instant short stories and fun animations
- Stores up to 1000 photos
- Built-in editing, no software needed
- Easy to save, print and email pictures (USB cable required but not included)
The PLAYSKOOL ShowCam has got to be one of the neatest camera toys I’ve seen for kids in a while! It features a large viewing area to see what your taking pictures of and the ability to instantly add fun stamps and animations to the photos is great! There does need to be adequate light when taking a photo, otherwise the pictures will be a little hard to see. The buttons are big and responsive which is great for little hands and it’s easy to flip from camera to projector with the toggle on the side.
When your ready to present your photo creations, just find a flat surface, dim the lights and flip the green toggle! Your custom slide show will appear and give everyone a smile. My kids loved seeing their faces put into funny animations and wearing silly hats. When it came time to save the photos, we just plugged in the camera with a USB cable and getting the photos off was a snap. The PLAYSKOOL ShowCam is definitely a great item for any child’ s holiday wish list.
When it comes to toys, Hasbro knows how to put out products both kids and parents will love. If you’re looking to put something fun under the tree, I suggest checking both the PLAYSKOOL Show Cam and the Play-Doh Sweet Shoppe Frosting Fun Bakery!
