Having a preschooler I’m always trying to find new ways to fill her world with discovery, learning and play. Thankfully there are a few television shows that help me to do so. Pocoyo is a sweet, preschool geared television show centered around an energetic toddler and his friends. The show’s narrator guides the characters along with gentle suggestions whenever Pocoyo encounters trouble.
We were sent the latest DVD for the series, Pocoyo’s World. The 90 minute DVD features 12 episodes of the show. Each episode teaches children a multitude of fun lessons such as how seeds grow, what hatches from eggs and more! The DVD even features a Spanish language option.
Both my children have loved Pocoyo since they first watched the show, but I’ll admit I took a little more convincing. At first I didn’t see the point and found the show odd. However, as I continued to watch it with my kids, I came to see what they loved so much. Not only are the colors bright and fun, but the characters are sweet and encounter issues that children face everyday. Things like learning to share, what happens when they’re naughty, or when you hurt someone’s feelings and how to handle when they are upset.
What I really love about Pocoyo, is that there is very little dialogue through out the show. It’s mainly composed of watching the actions of the characters and listening to the narrator. My kids really become engaged in the stories and love seeing what the different characters will do.
The Pocoyo’s World DVD is will be exclusively available at Walmart from 5/7-5/20 and beginning 5/21 at retailers nationwide. If you have little ones and are looking for a fun and educational show to offer them, I highly suggest giving Pocoyo a try!
