Canada is a country that offers something for everyone. The erstwhile young adventurer, family matriarch, and luxury-loving high-flyer alike will adore it in equal measure, thanks to its breath-taking scenery, cosmopolitan cities, and laid back vibe. A delectable cocktail of towering mountains, teeming streets, and wide open wildernesses, it encompasses everything from huge glass shopping malls to Arctic tundra and untouched forests.
Those in search of new experiences will not find themselves disappointed, but knowing where to look for them is essential if you want to construct the ultimate itinerary. If you’re seeking inspiration, here are just a few of the destinations that you’ll want to pay a visit to…
#1: Whistler
Whistler is beloved of snow sports enthusiasts from around the world, and it’s the perfect place to enjoy a Canadian adventure. Sited amongst the slopes and shadows of mountain behemoths Whistler and Blackcomb, it is the most famous skiing destination in North America, and is guaranteed to deliver thrills, spills, and frozen delights. Those who choose to visit can add a trip to Vancouver to their plans, taking a drive along the enchanting Sea-to-Sky Highway to reach it.
#2: Vancouver Island
Vancouver Island is a haven for those in search of adventure, the roving spirit of its explorer namesake seeming to inhere in the very bones of the place. Accessible by ferry, the isolated island is famous for many things, from its stark beauty to its quaint towns, exquisitely arrayed gardens, and its surfing. For those whose palettes would hunger for more adventure yet, forsake the seas and tourist destinations, and catch a ferry from Vancouver Island to Alaska, where you can enjoy some of the vastest and most untouched wildernesses in existence.
#3: Banff National Park
The great outdoors calls to those in search of adventure, so it is little surprise that Banff National Park is a beacon to those with a love of rugged wilderness, soaring skies, and open spaces. Sited in the heart of Alberta, it is one of the most visited national parks in the world, with its enchanting and ethereal landscapes drawing aesthetes, romantics, and those with a touch of wanderlust time and time again. For those who journey into its wilds, the beauty and majesty of Mother Nature abounds, along with a scattering of some of the most majestic creatures on the planet, from black bears to their grizzly cousins, bison, moose, wolves, and even that ultimate totem of freedom: the eagle.
