Thank you to Little Tikes for providing me with a sample to review. All opinions are my own.
Spring is here and it’s time to start getting the kids ready for outdoor play again! Little Tikes has a wonderful way of exploring green fun and learning about the environment with their new, Go Green Playhouse! This eco-friendly play structure offers little ones the chance to grow their own flowers, learn about recycling, use their own rain barrel and much more! A few of my favorite features the playhouse offers are:
- Recycling center with removable bins
- Water reservoir leading to a rain barrel
- Mail box (mail isn’t included however we made our own out of cardboard box tops)
- Solar powered light
- Skylight
- Working shutter, dutch door and doorbell
- Small roof section can be filled with soil to grow grass (like a green roof)
- Planting box where kids can really grow flowers and vegetables
- Real working sink, water comes from rain barrel
- Accessories include:
* 1-Shovel
* 1-Hand “rake”
* 1-Play cell phone
* 1-Watering can
Since it’s still a bit chilly where we are, we’ve set out playhouse up indoors for the moment. It took me about an hour and half to put together on my own and the instructions were easy to read. I HIGHLY suggest using a drill as it makes the process go much faster. Since adding the Go Green Playhouse to our playroom it’s been a hit with all 3 of my kiddos (1,5 and 6) ! The sloping roof is a bit of a challenge for my tall 6 year old but she still enjoys playing in it.
My 1 year old really enjoys being a little green thumb enthusiast, she loves carrying around the watering can, ringing the doorbell and swinging open the little dutch door.
We haven’t used the rain barrel or flower bed yet, but I plan on getting some fake grass and flowers for pretend play until the weather allows us outdoors more. The kids really like the mailbox as well so we made our own mail from parts of a cardboard box. We wrote their names and fun pretend addresses on them along with a few of their friends so they could send “mail” to each other. It’s pretty adorable.
I love that the Go Green Playhouse helps me teach the importance of being green to my kids! They’ve been collecting water bottles and sorting them as well as using paper from crafts they’ve done to put in the recycling bin.
All in all, I’d say the Go Green Playhouse from Little Tikes is a wonderful addition to our playroom! It’s well built, sturdy, educational and gives my kids hours of imaginative play.
You can find the Go Green Playhouse for $269.99 on Little Tikes’ website.
