Being a mom to little ones, I’m always curious about what happens in their bedrooms once I close the door for naps and bedtime. With the kid’s bedrooms upstairs and ours downstairs, we become serenaded by the stomps, pounds and other strange noises coming from the ceiling when we put the kids down for bed. I’ve always wondered what in the blue blazes they’ve been doing up there! Thankfully, Motorola’s MBP26 Digital Video Baby Monitor has made it easy to bring our eyes into their bedrooms, make sure they’re safe and not being too goofy when we aren’t around.
We had the chance to test out the MBP26 Digital Video Baby Monitor on our 2 year old. The camera comes complete with everything you need to feel like an undercover agent in your own home, including:
- Camera unit
- Handheld video monitor
- Plug in cord for camera
- Rechargeable battery for handheld video monitor
- Plug in wall charger for handheld video monitor
Setting up the camera was super easy. The rechargeable battery came with some juice already on it so we could start using it right out of the box. You just plug in the camera and turn on the handheld video monitor and it’s all ready! The camera can be tilted up, down, left and right by using the handheld device and also offers a night vision setting. The picture on the monitor is pretty good and clear and the night vision isn’t bad. You can also control the volume on the monitor as well as talk to your child by using the microphone button. Some of my favorite features of the monitor are:
- Up to 520 foot range with out of range alert
- 2.4 Inch Color LCD monitor with infrared night vision
- Optical Pan and Tilt and LED sound level indicators on parent unit
- Parent unit has a rechargeable battery with a low battery alert
- Parent unit can be paired with up to four baby units (cameras); One parent unit (monitor) and one baby unit (camera) included
Once we put the camera in my 2 year old’s bedroom, what we discovered was worthy of winning the cash prize on America’s Funnies Home Videos! He would be leaping on and off his bed, using his planes to soar around the room, singing to himself and even walking up to the camera trying to talk to us. It was even more entertaining when we used the microphone button to talk to him and tell him to stop jumping or to lay down. He would look around the room wondering where our voices were coming from and sweetly answer, “OK Mama!” to all our requests.
Our experience with the Motorola MBP26 Digitial Video Baby Monitor has been wonderful! The cord for the camera is nice and long and it does have the ability to be mounted if needed. The picture looks great and we can clearly see child during the say and at night. If you are looking for a baby monitor for a new baby or to keep an eye on your toddlers, I highly suggest checking out the Motorola MBP26 Digitial Video Baby Monitor!
