It’s the holiday season and nothing rings in the holidays quite like helping others. When I was a kid, every year during our winter break my family would volunteer at a local food pantry to help feed the homeless. It was a wonderful, humbling and eye-opening experience to help others through such a small act of serving or preparing food yet, it seemed to have such great impact. It’s an experience I’ll never forget and one that has made me very passionate about lending a hand whenever I can to help those in need.
This holiday season, T-Mobile is making it easy for anyone to lend a helping hand with their #GivingTWOgether Phone Drive! What if your old phone or tablet could help provide meals to the hungry or deploy help to in-need communities? Well, now they can!
Right now through December 31, head into a T–Mobile store to recycle one of your old tablets or cell phones and they will DOUBLE your impact, matching the recycled value of your devices, after costs, and donating it all to Feeding America and Team Rubicon! These charities have dedicated themselves to helping those in need and now your old devices can help achieve those goals.
To make the holidays even brighter, T–Mobile has pledged a minimum matching donation of $1,000,000 which is to be split evenly between the two charities. Can you believe that that’s enough to buy at least 5,000,000 meals for hungry families AND deploy 5,000 veterans to serve communities affected by disasters? What an wonderful gift!
This amazing campaign comes as a follow up to the recent #GivingTuesday campaign. If you aren’t aware, T-Mobile came forward to help those affected by the current hurricanes this year by putting their customers, employees, and fans in charge of giving away up to $2 million to charity. In addition, T-Mobile, helped to raise awareness and more than $2.78 million for hurricane recovery & relief in the #HR4HR (Home Runs for Hurricane Recovery) program!
If you’re anything like our family, you probably have 1 or 5 old cell phones sitting in a drawer somewhere. It seems like I always forget about these relics until my kids go digging through a drawer or box and all of a sudden I’m staring at a pile of old phones and tablets. What better way to dispose of them than through a program that turns them into more than just an old device!
