Create the perfect pet habitat with the Bio Bubble Premium!

When it comes to choosing a pet that’s perfect for your family the decision doesn’t always come easy. Adding an animal to the household doesn’t come cheap and it can get exceptionally expensive if you have to buy a habitat that’s made for only one form of life.

What if there were a product that allowed you to create a habitat for land or sea animals?  Well now you can with the Bio Bubble from Bio Bubble Pets! This versatile habitat allows you to create an expansive line of different habitats for an array of wildlife. From butterflies, birds and lizards to fish and turtles; the Bio Bubble can house them all!

We were given the chance to test out a Bio Bubble Premium. The Premium set comes with accessories to help you create an aquatic or small animal environment. Other items such as a caged section for birds or terrarium expansion are available for purchase separately. After laying everything out, I was surprised to see that an aquarium light was not included. They do however, provide the filter, tubing and items needed to create an aquatic environment. The plastic middle section shown in the photo below is for creating a small land animal environment, such as a hamster cage.

One of the really interesting features of the Bio Bubble is it’s ability to expand in the middle. When using the Bio Bubble as an aquarium, the middle collapses to push the water up into the dome. This creates a total 360 degree view of your animals! It also lets you add fish, change water or clean your tank without having to empty it.

We decided to create an aquatic habitat for our home. The instructions to put the aquarium together were written well enough for me to put it together by myself. However, some of the instructions were a bit vague. When it came to putting the air hose into the filter, the tubing was not cut to allow the air valve to be added, so I had to cut it myself. All together construction time took about 35 minutes.

The Bio Bubble holds a little over 4 gallons of water, so it’s a relatively small aquarium. You won’t be able to house large amounts of fish, but 2-4 small species would work well. Although the package shows a salt water environment, I personally felt the space was too small for the work needed to keep up a salt water habitat so we decided to go with fresh water.  When filling the Bio Bubble, be sure to leave some room at the top to allow for the water to expand through out the dome when the middle is pushed down. You can either choose to add water first or add your decor and then fill with water.   Make sure you construct the Bio Bubble where you plan to keep it. Once you fill it with water it will be too heavy to move.

My kiddos and I had a lot of fun choosing our aquarium decor. Once we got it all set up the pet shop recommended we add some tap water conditioner to the water and allow it to run for about 48 hrs before adding any fish. I was surprised that the Bio Bubble didn’t come with suggestions on the types of fish that would work well within the aquarium habitat or pointers for first time fish owner as to how to manage the aquarium. If you’ve never owned an aquarium, these are all vital things you’ll need to know. luckily I’ve owned aquariums before so I knew the basics.

For the fish, we decided on 4 little glow fish. When purchasing your fish I HIGHLY suggest to stay away from Walmart! We bought 2 of our fish there and had to return them 3 different times because they kept dying. (yes, you can return fish, it’s not a fun return, but it happens)  Since having the Bio Bubble, my kids have woken up (very early) each morning and come to tell me ” The Fish Need Food!!” We all enjoy watching them live and grow within the Bio Bubble and we’ve received lots of compliments on the aquarium and it’s unique shape!  One of my favorite features of the Bio Bubble is that it takes up a minimal amount of space. This makes it perfect for children’s rooms, apartments and other places where a large aquarium may not fit.
