*Just a heads up*
The kitchen arrives in two seperate boxes with stickers of the product on the oustside. If you decide to send this item as a gift, be aware you may want to give the parents a warning to keep it a surprise. 🙂
*The Construction*
When we opened the boxes and laid out all the parts, I will say, I think my husband’s heart skipped a beat. There are LOTS of pieces, 39 labled parts to be exact. It’s great that they are labeled since some pieces look alike so the lables are great for helping you know what goes where.
The instructions were very well written and included diagrams of how things were to be put together. They do tell you to put 5 or so pieces together as 1 step so even though there are only a few steps, it does take a while to get togeher.
Total time for us was about 2.5 hours and that’s with no break in between, save for the few frustration breakdowns I allow for my impatient husband 🙂 But after all our hardwork, we ended up with an amazing finished product!
I’ve seen wooden kitchens before but none as nice as this!
*My favorite attributes on The Deluxe Pretend Play Kitchen*
– For one, I love that the wood it’s made from is thick, about a 1/4in. This makes it much more durable and keeps me from worrying about the doors being damaged by getting closed too hard.
– This kitchen has door stoppers on the inside of each door. They allow the doors to close tight but also keeps them from harming the inner shelves when closed. I’ve never seen this on a toy kitchen before and I really like it!
– The knobs on the oven, the sink, and the turntable in the microwave all turn and are easy to turn for young kids. This is great especially since it allows the little ones to play with out getting frustrated.
– It’s large enough for 2-3 kids to play with at the same time without getting in each other’s way.
– The Pots & Pan Accessory Set go great with the kitchen! They are sturdy and also made from thick, high quality wood.
– My favorite feature though is that there are NO stickers to put on!! That’s right! I said NO stickers! All the decals come on the wood and CAN’T be peeled off by curious little fingers. This includes the Pot and Pans Accessory Set.

The only thing I could see possibly making this kitchen even MORE fun, would be to add a chalkboard to the side or magnetic door. It would be a lot of fun for kids to be able to plan out their own grocery list or add their school work to their own fridge with magnets.
