Thank you to Guide Craft for providing me with a sample to review.
When it comes to building blocks, my kids love them. They have a blast creating different buildings and shapes with them, however they always seem to get frustrated when their creation becomes unstable and falls apart. I have to admit, it would be great to have a creative product that helps kids create, learn and takes out the frustration of premature falling blocks.
Thankfully GuideCraft has created the perfect solution with their new Power Clix, 3D Building System! PowerClix are a revolutionary new way for kids 5 and up to build, create and construct with out the worry of their creation falling down! PowerClix feature geometric shaped pieces that have strong magnets in each corner. These magnets allow the pieces to fit and STAY together. Not only do PowerClix keep creations standing, they help teach kids about the power of magnetism, their geometric shapes, and the science in engineering their own buildings!
We were given the chance to test out the 68 piece PowerClix set and my kids are obsessed with them! The set comes with triangle, rectangle and square shapes as well as straight connector pieces. There is also an activity guide that shows how to construct certain creations such as buildings and bridges. Each PowerClix piece is made from hard, translucent colored plastic making them super durable. The magnets are embedded in the plastic which I love.
My 4 year old had a great time playing with the PowerClix! No more frustrated little kids with the use of the magnets in the shapes. They really do produce a strong hold and keep the pieces together. The shapes are also a great size for little hands and allow theme to feel and see what that shape should look like. I took advantage of this and use them to help teach my kids all about their shapes!
If you’re a teacher or home school your kids, I would highly recommend PowerClix! They are not only engaging to play with but really help to teach science and engineering to a younger crowd in a way they can understand. My daughter has loved creating all kinds of things with the PowerClix and learning her shapes and colors with them. If you’re looking for the perfect educational “block” set, I highly suggest checking out PowerClix from GuideCraft!
PowerClix come in sets of 18, 36, 52 and 68.
