I received a free VIP Tour, Park Tickets and 2 Night stay at a Universal Orlando Resort to help facilitate my review. All opinions are my own.
If you travel with your family for the holidays or if you’re a Florida local, there’s no place to see holiday fun like Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure Florida! I recently had the chance to experience a stay at their on site resort, the Loews Royal Pacific and check out the holiday celebrations at both Universal Studios and Islands Of Adventure and we had a total blast!
Loews Royal Pacific Resort
The Loews Royal Pacific Resort at Universal Studios FL, is one of the many resort option on Universal property. Themed with the beautiful pacific region in mind, the resort makes you feel as though you’ve stepped into an island paradise! From checking in to checking out the staff was great in helping us get settled and find our way around the hotel and to the parks. The resort is within walking distance of Universal’s CityWalk as well as both theme parks, however there are also water taxis available as well. Our room was gorgeous and we had a wonderful view of the fun, lagoon-style pool below.

Resort guests also get to take advantage of getting FREE Express Passes for the parks for everyday of their stay! This means you can skip the lines and get on your favorite rides faster. Each Express Pass is an $89 value per day, so getting them for free is an awesome perk! Another fun perk for resort guests is that they gain early bird access to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter one hour before the theme park opens. The Royal Pacific has an array of fun restaurants including and Emril’s Tchop Chop, full of fun pan-asian cuisine. We were treated to the buffet style breakfast in the Island’s restaurant and it was fabulous!
Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort, coming 2014
While we were on our Universal excursion we had the chance to learn about the newest addition to the Universal Resort family, the Cabana Bay Beach Resort! Built entirely with the idea of large family vacations in mind, the Cabana Bay Beach Resort will feature large rooms that sleep up to 6, share-friendly bathrooms, it’s own bowling alley, lazy river and all at a price families will love. The new resort will have a late 50’s early 60’s theme and looks like it’s going to be stunning!

The VIP Experience
If you’ve ever wanted to feel like a celebrity at a theme park, the VIP Experience tour at Universal parks is the way to do it. Each VIP tour gets you a guided tour between your choice of one or both theme parks as well as priority access on a minimum of 8 major attractions, a special VIP discount at theme park shops and complimentary valet parking.

We were given a 2 park VIP Tour, and I have to say it was incredibly cool to be able to skip between parks and get on our favorite rides crazy fast. The rides we experienced on our VIP Tour were:
- The Cat In The Hat
- Flight Of The Hippogriff
- Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey
- Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man
- Despicable Me Minion Mayhem
- Transformers: The Ride 3-D
- Men in Black Alien Attack
- E.T Adventure
My kiddos loved The Cat In The Hat and Despicable Me Minion Mayhem while my favorites were Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey and Transformers: The Ride 3-D!

The Hard Rock Cafe & Blue Man Group at Universal CityWalk
That night we were wined and dined at the world’s largest Hard Rock Cafe in Universal CityWalk. The food was wonderful and we had a great time looking at all the awesome rock history through out the restaurant. Afterwards we were treated to The Blue Man Group who went above and beyond my expectations of amazing! The whole show was breath taking and the fact that it allows the audience to interact with the Blue Man makes it even more fun. My kids loved it and it was definitely a great way to end the night.
Grinchmas at Islands Of Adventure
When it comes to Christmas classics, the story of The Grinch Who Stole Christmas is one of my all time favorites. Universal’s Islands Of Adventure has brought the timeless classic to life with their Grinchmas celebration. Guests can enjoy the Grinchmas Wholiday Spectacular, a re-enactment of the story on stage and see the Grinch themselves!

The kids and I loved watching the Grinch come to life on stage and we were even able to meet and take a photo with him afterwards! The kiddos were a little apprehensive at first when meeting the Grinch, but once they say he was nice they were all about it.

Macy’s Holiday Parade at Universal Studios
After we met the Grinch, it was time to head to Universal Studios for Macy’s Holiday Parade! The holiday parade lets you feel as though you’re on the streets of New York and watching the massive floats and balloons Macy’s parades are known for fly by. There we met Happy the Hippo, a special balloon created just for Universal by Macy’s. She even has pink painted toenails and her own pre-show before the big holiday parade!

After meeting Happy, we were given an amazing show with the Macy’s Holiday Parade! Nothing truly puts you in the holiday spirit like fun music, neat floats HUGE balloons floating down the streets. We saw Betty Boop, Marilyn Monroe, the Nut Cracker, Santa Clause and even tap dancing Snowmen!

I love watching parades and the Macy’s Holiday Parade is certainly a site to be seen! Both the kids and I had a great time watching all the fun characters come down the street and seeing the giant balloons. The actors were great with the kids and even handed out peppermints! The last float of the parade was a stunning sleigh with none other then Santa himself coming to light the massive Christmas Tree in the center of the town. The parade lasted about 25-30 min and it beyond fun!

There’s nothing like Universal for the holidays!
Our entire Universal Resort and Theme Park experience was beyond awesome! The resort was wonderful, the VIP Experience really made us feel like theme park royalty and the staff everywhere was more then accommodating to my family. The kids loved seeing the Grinch and it’s been all the could talk about for days now! I’ll admit I was a bit apprehensive since I always viewed Universal parks as something more for older kids, but my young ones truly had a blast, especially in Suess Landing in Islands Of Adventure. If you’re looking for a wonderful way to give the holidays a little extra spark, I highly suggest heading to Universal Holidays at Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure in Orlando, FL!

I am so jealous! We haven’t been able to go in almost a decade and I really want to take the little ones who haven’t gone. That VIP Tour sounds like it’s great.
I’ve wanted to go to the Wizarding World for quite a while, but I had no idea Seuss Landing even existed – it looks so cool! And we’re reading Seuss books to our son all the time, so he’d love it too. 🙂
This looks like so much fun!! I have never been to Universal Studios, and it is the one place I so desperately want to go to with my family. Especially since we are all such movie and entertainment buffs.
