Thank you to Kalorik for providing me with a Rollie Eggmaster to review.
For our house, breakfast isn’t always the easiest of meals. In fact, breakfast sometimes can be down right chaotic! So when it comes to finding products that can help me be more productive in the morning, I’m all over it! The Rollie Eggmaster does just that! This new-to-the-market kitchen gadget from Kalorik retails for $29.99 and is an easy to use, vertical grill that produces yummy meals in cylindrical packages.
I’ll be honest, I was totally skeptical when I first saw the Rollie. I thought to myself, “Why the heck would I need or want something that cooks food into little cylinders??” Well, after using the Rollie, I have literally eaten my words! This funky contraption comes complete with loads of features you’d want in a cooking gadget. A few of my favorite features are:
– Eggs rise and pop up when ready
– Cool-touch housing
– Integrated funnel in upper part for mess
free operation
– Embedded heating element around
aluminum tube for ideal heat repartition
– Non-stick coated cooking chamber for
easy cleaning
– Silicone ring around the housing for cool
touch and optimum grip
– 4 non-skid rubber feet
– Includes 5 wooden skewers, cleaning brush and packer tool
Cooking with the Rollie Eggmaster
The Rollie also comes with some great recipe ideas. I decided to cook three of the included recipes and then created my own! I started with the Rollie recipe for an egg in a blanket and chose to use ham as my meat. The directions told me to plug in the Rollie and spray the cooking chamber with non-stick cooking spray. You must do this EVERY time you go to cook something in the Rollie. I then waited for the green indicator light to turn on before rolling up the ham, placing it in the cooking chamber and then cracking my egg directly into the chamber. I set the timer for 8 min and waited for my egg in a blanket to be done. As the meal cooked, it started to rise right out of the Rollie! My kids really liked this part, saying it was a ghost and that I was going to have to catch it. The egg in a blanket was easy to remove and looked appetizing right out of the grill. The taste test went great and both the kids and I loved it!
After such a great test run I couldn’t wait to create more meals! I went on to make two more recipes from the Rollie cook book, a regular egg and a Rollie pancake link. Both turned out great! The pancake link really went well with the kiddos. I then decided to create my own Rollie recipe and concocted a Rollie mini chocolate chip pancake! It turned out awesome and soon became our favorite Rollie food.

Fairy tips for the Rollie Eggmaster
The Rollie Eggmaster would be a wonderful device for camping or taking on trips. It’s compact size would allow you to easily carry it in a backpack or a suitcase. The only draw back I see is that it needs to be plugged in to run. It would be much more versatile if it had the option to run off batteries as well, especially when it comes to portability. The size of the meals and snacks that the Rollie produces are the perfect size for little hands and can be made relatively fast. They would be great for keeping as snacks for use on trips or in lunches. Plus, the food’s fun shape makes it engaging for kids and fun to eat. All in all I give the Rollie Eggmaster a big Fairy A+!
